To fix the "This app is blocked" error in Google Slides, admins can enable the third-party app in the Google Admin console.
Before starting, ensure you have administrator privileges for your Google Workspace account.
Step-by-Step Configuration:
1. Navigate to API Controls in Google Workspace Admin Console
- Log in to your Google Workspace Admin console.
- In the left-hand navigation menu, click on “Security”
- Under Security, locate and click on (API controls.)
2. Manage Third-Party App Access
- On the API controls page, you'll see an overview of your API access. To manage third-party applications, click on MANAGE THIRD-PARTY APP ACCESS.
3. Initiate New App Configuration
- You'll now be on the "API Controls" page, specifically under the "App Access Control" section.
- Under "Configured apps," click on the “Configure new app” button.
4. Search for the Third-Party App
- A "Configure new app" dialog will appear. In the search bar, enter the following: Client ID: 173856016669-jpmkb2puiqj4hplbu7j8f1loccstl5ke.apps.googleusercontent.com
- Click Search.
- This will allow you to locate and configure the specific third-party application such as Display NOW.
- Once the app appears in the search results, select “Display NOW."
5. Define the Scope of Access
- The next step is to define who within your organization will have access to this app.
- Select the “All in acme corporation (all users)” option.
- Click “Continue”
6. Set Access to Google Data
- Now, you need to specify how this app can access Google data.
- Select the “Trusted” option. Or you can also select the "Specific Google Data" option. Whichever one you prefer.
- Click “Continue.”
7. Review and Finish Configuration
- Review all the configured settings for the Display NOW App, including the selected application, the scope of access and the access to Google Data ("Trusted.") Once you've confirmed everything is correct, click “Finish."
8. Verify Configured App
- After clicking "Finish," you will be redirected back to the "API Controls" page.
- The newly configured app "Display NOW" should now appear under the "Configured apps" list, along with its type, ID, and access details.
You've successfully configured Google Slides within the Display Now Manager! Users within the specified scope can now access their Google Slides presentations through Display Now Manager, according to the access levels you've defined.
